Introduction to Audio Engineering

Learn how to use all of the standard types of audio equipment and their basic theory of operation. All types of microphones, mixing consoles, compressors, EQ's reverts, power amps will be covered with live demonstration during classes. Students will have the opportunity to sit in on an actual recording session or travel to a gig with a local production company to see what's it like to be an audio professional. Classes will also cover maintenance and troubleshooting of studio and P.A. system hardware. Course includes sixteen hours of in-class training and four hours in an internship with an emphasis on live sound or recording.
