JAY MATHESON

A full time recording engineer and studio owner for over 16 years, Jay has specialized in recording bands and solo artists for record labels of all styles including rock, country, funk and rap. Jay’s recording credits for local and national acts are far to numerous to list. He holds a B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina.

Production and engineering credits include Danielle Howle and the Tantrums (Daemon Records), Stretch Armstrong (Warner Bros., Solid State Records), The Woggles, The Working Title (Universal Records), Gianna Punchline, Throttlerod (Underdogma Records), Baroness and Drink Small (Ichiban Records). In addition to studio recordings, Jay has done live mixing and recording for 100’s of national acts for 20 years at festivals, theaters and clubs across the Southeast.

 





MARTY FORT

A music instructor with 14 years of teaching experience, Marty holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts. He has performed two tours of Europe as a classical guitarist. As a rock and jazz guitarist he has toured the Southeastern, US.
His original compositions have been broadcast on radio in the US and Europe.

He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Carolina Upstate and Midlands Technical College.

 




FRANK WARD
Associate Lecturer


Mr. Ward has been involved in sound and acoustics work since 1980. He has experience in design, installation, consulting, live sound, and theatrical lighting. He has taught seminars on system design and operation. He has consulted with churches, schools, businesses, and government organizations, managing the technical aspects of a wide range of theatrical and musical events. He is a principal with Acoustical Design Associates, Inc., and holds a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Frank's experience from 1980 to 1986 consisted of final system installation, adjustment, and troubleshooting for several communications contracting businesses. He worked with pro audio systems, nurse/patient call systems, paging, intercom systems, and telephones. These projects included churches, auditoriums, gymnasiums, courtrooms, outdoor sports facilities, schools, medical and corporate offices, and industrial facilities.

Since 1987 the scope of his work expanded to include control systems, video, and theatrical /performance lighting. Sound, lighting, and staging for indoor and outdoor live events was also added to the mix of projects that Frank personally supervised. Permanent installation work experience expanded to include video conferencing facilities, presentation rooms, hotel meeting rooms, and acoustics/noise control work.
